Customizing the display format in the Location dropdowns

It is also possible to customize how the location name is displayed across ‘Locations’ dropdowns in CommCare. The two possible options are - location name or location path. e.g., In a hierarchy of State > District > City > Clinic, a ‘Clinic’ level location called ‘Test Clinic 1’ can be displayed as

1. Test State/Test District/Test City/Test Clinic 1 (location path)

   1. This is the default option.

   2. When hovering over the location path with the mouse, the location name & type are displayed.

   1. When hovering over the location name with the mouse, the entire location path is displayed.

By default, the location path format is used. To toggle between the two display formats, you can:

1. Launch ‘Project Settings’ from the gear icon in the top right corner.

2. In the ‘Project Administration’ section, click on ‘Feature Previews’.

3. Select or de-select the checkbox ‘Use Location Name’.

4. Click ‘Update Previews’ button to save the change.

5. Once saved, the setting changes the display format of the locations dropdown across CommCare. e.g., on the Web user invite and edit pages or Create and Edit mobile worker pages.
