SMS Gateway Options
Dimagi provides a set of shared SMS connections for our projects. You can also set up your own private connections. For each project, you must select a connection that will be used.
A very popular option that works in any location is to set up an Android Gateway using Telerivet and a local SIM and Android device. This is our recommended approach to setting up a gateway for CommCare. More information can be found here: Setup an Android SMS Gateway
How to Set Up your Connection
Set a Project Gateway Connection
Go to the Messaging tab, select Dashboard and then select SMS Connectivity in the left menu.
Choose a gateway as the default. If needed, add another gateway (HTTP or Android).
Add Another Connection
If you'd like to use a different connection for your project, you can add it using the "Add Another Gateway" option at the bottom of the page.
Choose Telerivet (Android) to setup an Android phone based connection (https://dimagi.atlassian.net/wiki/x/zBnKfw).
