One of CommCare's many built-in integration options is the Excel Dashboard integration, which allows programmatic teams to automatically feed their CommCare data into excel with a few easy steps.

As part of the WHO FFX template package, we created a template Excel Dashboard to be downloaded and used by any organizations deploying the WHO FFX app.

Configuring your dashboard

If you are on a Standard CommCare subscription or higher, you can download this dashboard and set it up to automatically sync the FFX app data from your project space. If you're on a Community plan, you can still use this dashboard and paste in your data from your CommCare case export.

To Create Dashboard Integration (Standard+ Plan)

  1. Got to Data > View All

  2. Click "Excel Dashboard Integration" (Only available for Standard subscription plan and higher)

  3. Choose Model type = case

  4. App type = Applications

  5. Application = name of your app (WHO First Few X (FFX) Cases

  6. Case type = covid_19_case

  7. Click "Add Dashboard Feed"

  8. Click "Create"

  9. Click "Update Data" 

  10. Refresh the page (Ctrl + F5) and copy the Dashboard Feed Link

To Create Manual Dashboard (Community Plan)

  1. Go to Data > View All

  2. Click "Export Case Data"

  3. Click Export (case type = covid_19_case)

  4. Select a Date Range for the data you want to export

  5. Click "Prepare Export"

  6. Click "Download" 

  7. Open the Excel file and select the data in the first tab and copy it into the Raw Data sheet so the data is updated
