PersonalID Sign-up

This page describes how users sign up for and log into PersonalID to access CommCare Connect opportunities and apps, navigate via the side menu, and view or discover available Opportunities and Messaging options.

PersonalID Sign-up flow

A PersonalID account is required for users to view and accept Opportunities in Connect. Detailed instructions for signing up for a PersonalID account may be found here.

After setup, the user may use their on-device biometrics to unlock their PersonalID. The first time they access their CommCare applications after setting up their PersonalID, they will be given the option to attach them to their PersonalID account. If they proceed with this option, they will be able to securely access that CommCare application by just unlocking their PersonalID in the future. 

Side Navigation

Users may navigate the application via menu which is accessible via a hamburger icon (≡) in the upper left corner of the app. Note that the current application version is displayed at the bottom of the menu.

Select the “X” button or select away from the Side Navigation menu to close it.

Logged In State

The first time a user logs in to PersonalID, they will see their Name, Opportunities, and CommCare Apps. The user may select Opportunities to access the Opportunity which they have been invited to.

  • Opportunities will be displayed on the side menu if pre-invited or if you have existing opportunities

  • “CommCare Apps” menu item is included on the side menu

    • If you have no CommCare apps installed the “CommCare Apps” menu item will not be shown

    • The CommCare app you last used (the “seated app”) will be highlighted on the Login or Home screen.

  • After a user has opened a given Opportunity, the next time they open the Side Navigation, a new option “Messaging” will be available.

Opportunities Access

  • Users pre-registered to an Opportunity can select “Opportunities” from the side menu to access their Opportunity list.

  • Non-pre-registered users can:

    • Open the 3-dot menu on the Setup page

    • Select “Check for Opportunities”

    • If available, the Connect menu appears to navigate to Opportunities

    • Otherwise if no Opportunities are available, users see a “Try again later” message.
