Overview
This release introduces significant updates, including the merge of all Connect Code into the mainline CommCare code and a new side menu in PersonalID to improve navigation. These changes will impact onboarding and training.
Beta Program No Longer Required
All Connect features are now merged into the mainline CommCare codebase.
Users no longer need to subscribe to the CommCare Beta program to access Connect functionality.
Updating the CommCare app as usual will move users from the Beta channel to the 2.59 release.
FLWs should not be directed to sign up for the Beta during onboarding going forward.
NOTE: The 2.59 mainline release will roll out in phases over the first week (Aug 25, 20025 - Aug 30, 2025) During this time, beta users can continue to use the beta version. After one week, once the mainline release is fully deployed (100% users), the Beta Program will no longer be available. Connect users will no longer need to sign up for the beta, the latest version will be available by default.
New Side Menu in PersonalID
Access & Availability
A side menu is added to PersonalID to streamline navigation, accessible via a hamburger icon (≡) in the upper left corner of the app.
The side menu can appear on the Setup, Login, and App Home pages:
Always available on the Setup page.
Available on Login and App Home pages only if a PersonalID is configured on the device.
Once enabled on the Login page, it remains available even if the user “forgets” their PersonalID.

After you complete the PersonalID signup flow, you will be returned to the setup page.
About CommCare in the footer and app version
Logged in state:
Opportunities will be displayed on the side menu if pre-invited or if you have existing opportunities
“CommCare Apps” menu item is included on the side menu
If you have no CommCare apps installed the “CommCare Apps” menu item will not be shown
The CommCare app you last used (the “seated app”) will be highlighted on the Login or Home screen.
If user has PersonalID messaging channels, “Messaging” menu item is shown
Opportunities Access
Users pre-registered to an Opportunity can select “Opportunities” from the side menu to access their Opportunity list.
Non-pre-registered users can:
Open the 3-dot menu on the Setup page
Select “Check for Opportunities”
If available, the Connect menu appears to navigate to Opportunities
Otherwise if no Opportunities are available, users see a “Try again later” message.

After signing in with PersonalID, users’ photo and name appear in the side menu
