There are a number of factors you need to take into account to determine the best enrollment option for your suite of devices. Note you don't have to choose one enrollment option for all your devices. Each device can be enrolled in a way that is appropriate.

Enrollment choices

Enrollment Mode

Current location of devices

Devices will be purchased in bulk or end users devices will be recalled to a central office

There is a technically savvy team who can perform the enrollment in a central location

There is a requirement for fully managed devices

For devices in a central location to be quickly enrolled the best way to enroll devices is:

  • DO enrollment using a QR code (Android 7+)
  • DO enrollment using a DPC Identifier (Android 6+)

NOTE: This assumes a Factory reset or the device or a new device "out of the box"

DO Mode

Devices are in the possession of end users.

Enrollment can be done remotely by people with fairly strong internet connectivity (enough to download an app from Play Store)

Its acceptable for devices to be partially managed and some personal use is acceptable

There are 3 ways to enroll these devices onto FocusMDM

  • Enrollment with invites ( i.e.  SMS or email with a URL link to the device to click for enrollment)
  • Bulk enroll a number of devices with invites (i.e. SMS or email unique URL link for enrollment)
  • Install FocusMDM on the device and perform manual enrollment steps

NOTE: This enrollment will not clear all user data from the device
