An inventory is the process of counting the total numbers of units of products at any given time. An inventory report could hold information about all the coartem in a storage facility. It includes:
Stock on Hand (total quantities of usable stock available. Items that are unusable are not considered part of stock on hand but losses to the system)
- Monthly Consumption (total average of the quantities of product dispensed to users in
in the most recent three months, as appropriate) If both location and program filter are not specified, Months of Stock - Months of Stock : remaining stock measured in months, this gives an assessment of how long the coartem supply in the clinic will last. It is the result of dividing Stock on Hand by Monthly Consumption)
- Stock Status (the status is decided by two factors: Stock Level settings and the remaining MOS. See documentation on stock level settings)
- If Remaining MOS < Emergency Level/Low Stock level, understock;
- If Remaining MOS > Adequate & Remaining MOS < Overstock level, adequate
- If Remaining MOS > Overstock level, overstock
