The Case Property Group can be used to group case properties. To manage which properties are associated with the Case Property Group, drag and drop case properties into or out of the group. Deprecating Case Types
It is possible to deprecate a case type using the Data Dictionary. Although applications using deprecated case types can still publish new releases and submit forms, they should ideally switch to case types that are not deprecated.
Effects of Deprecating a Case Type
The following effects occur when a case type is deprecated:
The report's case type filtering dropdown will not include deprecated case types as available options.
It is not possible to create new data case exports using a deprecated case type. Existing exports using deprecated case types will not be affected, but a deprecated tag will appear.
Users will still be able to perform bulk case imports using deprecated case types, but case imports using deprecated case types will not be possible.
A new automatic rule cannot be created using a deprecated case type. Existing rules using deprecated case types will not be affected, but a deprecated tag will appear.
A warning banner will be shown when a new release is done on an application that uses one or more deprecated case types.
A warning banner will be shown on the case details page for a case that has a deprecated case type.
Deprecating a Case Type
You can deprecate a case type by following these steps:
1) Select "Deprecate Case Type" from the data dictionary definition. When you select the deprecate option, CommCare displays how many modules use this case type.
2) Click confirm to deprecate a case type, and CommCare will mark it as deprecated, similar to the picture below.
Restoring a Case Type
To restore the case type once it has been deprecated, click "Restore Case Type".
Deprecating/un-deprecating Case Properties
You may deprecate case properties or case group properties by selecting the icon next to each of the definitions for the property.
You can view deprecated properties by clicking the button "Show Deprecated".
